A Name Giving Ceremony is a civil version, if you like, of a christening or baptism. A rite of passage, to welcome a new life to be shared with family and friends. Name Giving Ceremonies are more popular than you may imagine, as it enables the parents or guardians of a child to celebrate the joy of receiving this child into their lives and to declare to the world the name they have chosen.
The ceremony also facilitates the appointing of guardians, mentors, life guiders/coaches to watch out for and guide your child in the vagaries of life. It can perpetuate and begin lasting life relationships that are stable and wonderfully significant for parents and the child alike.
The ceremony includes a certificate for the child, showing the child’s name and date of the ceremony and the names of the guardians/mentors. Also a certificate for the guardians/mentors should they wish.
